A new Himalayan twin has been found! You may have seen Royal Enfield trying the new Himalayan in Europe. The company has a number of bikes ready to go on sale in the coming months and years. The motorbike has many new parts compared to the other 650 range, which makes it interesting. This makes me wonder if it is a 650 or a 750cc Royal Enfield Himalayan.
The motorbike looks like it’s almost ready to go into production, showing off most of its design and gear. The bike has a tall windscreen and a half-fairing with a round hedlight inside. It has a sporty riding position with the rider’s feet slightly tucked backwards and their back straight. The split seats and what looks like a heavy-duty bash plate give the bike a look that makes it ready for a journey.
The pictures also show the parts of the Royal Enfield Himalayan twin that are used for riding. In the front, it has USD forks that can be adjusted, and in the back, it has a monoshock. The front and rear wheels are 19 inches and 17 inches, respectively, and the TV screen is rectangle. It’s interesting that this bike has two disc brakes up front and one disc brake in the back. This is a first for Royal Enfield. Both channels of ABS are built into the motorbike, and it should come with simple electronic tools like traction control and ride modes.
It’s very mysterious. The 650cc engine that powers the Bear 650 could power the spotted Himalayan twin. This engine makes 47bhp and 57Nm of torque and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. These details make it more possible that it is a 650, since the Himalayan twin has a two-into-one exhaust system like the Bear.
It has been speculated that the engine would be a bigger 750cc unit that Royal Enfield is currently working on. However, this is not confirmed. If such is the case, then the implementation of twin disc brakes at the front of the motorbike makes perfect sense, given that the motorcycle will generate both power and torque.
